"Washington, DC -- Congressman Weiner has chosen to resign and we must all respect that decision.  I hope he can now move on with his life, and Congress must now proceed with the important issues of the day.  We can now focus once again on protecting Medicare and Medicaid from the horrendous changes proposed by the Republican majority.  As the Republicans have called this matter a distraction, perhaps now they can focus on putting forward a jobs bill that will put Americans back to work.   Now we can finally make progress on moving our nation away from its unhealthy reliance on foreign oil.  I wish Congressman Weiner, and his family, the best in the future.
