REP. ENGEL ANNOUNCES HOUSING GRANT FOR GREYSTON HEALTH

Washington, DC -- Congressman Eliot Engel announced the awarding of $1,365,890 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for Greyston Health Services. The grant allows GHS to continue providing permanent housing and supportive services to the homeless and marginally homeless youth with HIV/AIDS in the Yonkers.

The Greyston program targets persons with mental illness and chemical dependencies offering supportive housing at the 35-unit facility Isaac House for single adults. Supportive services are also provided to 75 households at the Maitri Adult Day Care Center where participants receive access to comprehensive case management and health and psychosocial services.

Rep. Engel said, “Greyston Health Services mission is to support low-income individuals and families on a path of self-sufficiency. To this end it operates a network of programs in Westchester providing jobs, workforce development, housing, youth services and health care. They have done a fine job of meeting their mission and this grant will help them to continue their good work.”
