Visit Washington, D.C.

Visiting Washington, D.C. is an exciting and educational experience. My door is always open to you, so please don't hesitate to stop by my office to visit with me and my staff. In addition, my staff can serve as a resource to you in booking tours for your trip. Please contact my office at (202) 225-4506 or fill out the Tour Request Form. Below is information about two of the most popular tours.

The United States Capitol

The Capitol Visitor Center is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Saturday, except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Inauguration Day. Capitol tours are conducted from 8:50 am to 3:20 pm. All visitors to the Capitol are required to go through security screening.

Click here for more information on visiting the Capitol.

If Congress is in session and you would like to observe the floor proceedings from the galleries, please stop by my office and ask for gallery passes.

The White House

Due to increased security procedures enacted since September 11th, it is very difficult to get tickets to tour the White House and slots are extremely limited. Tour requests should be made up to six months in advance and requests are considered on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, the White House does not inform Congressional offices about the status of tour requests until two weeks before the requested tour date. We recommend that you submit your request as early as possible. Given the volume of requests for White House tours and the size limits for the timed-entry tickets, the smaller your party is, the better your chances are of securing a tour. Click here to download the security information form. Once the form is fully completed with the pertinent security information from each person participating in the tour, please e-mail it to Rep.FredericaWilson.TOURS@mail.house.gov . In your message be sure to include a contact name and phone number for your group as well as the date(s) you are interested in touring. Tour information must be received by our office no later than 30 days prior to the desired tour date. However, we recommend submission 60 days prior or more for best results.

Please note, all tours are subject to cancellation due to occasional security shutdowns.
