The purpose of the Congressional Art Competition is to recognize the artistic achievements of students from across the United States. The art pieces received this year reflect not only the undeniable talent of the students of our community, but also their rich cultural diversity. Congressman Gutierrez is honored to have Guadalupe's entry, Everlasting Inspiration, displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol, where it will represent Illinois' Fourth Congressional District for one year.

Congressman Gutierrez would like to thank all of the students who participated, the parents and teachers who encouraged and supported them, and the judges from Latino Art Beat who helped select the winner.
