Pallone Statement Regarding Sandy Disaster Funding Package

Dec 7, 2012 Issues: Hurricane Sandy, New Jersey

LONG BRANCH, NJ—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today released the following statement in response to the Administration’s request for approximately $60 billion in aid from Congress for the states affected by Superstorm Sandy:

“I am encouraged by the Administration’s request for a $60 billion supplemental spending package from Congress to help in Sandy’s recover.  Sixty billion dollars is a good beginning and will provide the kick start New Jersey needs to help us get back on our feet.  I am optimistic that with this spending package, as well as with future assistance, we will be able to rebuild and regain the sense of normalcy that New Jerseyans need so desperately.

“I call on my colleagues in Congress to take up this supplemental package as soon as possible and I look forward to working with them to rebuild our state.”
