Connolly Remains Opposed to SOPA
Jan 19 2012Congressman Connolly reiterated his opposition to the Stop Online Piracy Act on Wednesday. Connolly was quoted in various media outlets highlighting his concerns about SOPA’s threat to a free and open Internet, as well as the consequences it would have on the high tech industry in Virginia’s 11th district and on small Internet businesses.
" Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., reiterated his opposition to SOPA on Twitter, where he urged his constituents to contact him on the issue via Facebook, since his House site has been overwhelmed by visitors.
Connolly's office told Hotsheet the congressman has received hundreds of calls today from his tech-savvy, northern Virginia district, almost universally in opposition to the legislation."
