Nestled amid the Great Piney Wood forest, the 8th Congressional District of Texas includes all of Montgomery, Walker, Polk, San Jacinto, Tyler, Jasper, Newton, Hardin, and Orange counties as well as portions of Trinity and Liberty counties. Constituents of the 8th Congressional District live here because of its great schools, friendly communities, and its warm and scenic environment. All of this coupled with a growing and robust economy makes this corner of Texas a wonderful place to call home.

The 8th district boasts of a strong commitment to economic development and is home to both major corporations and thriving agricultural enterprises. Additionally, the 8th district's Montgomery County is the birthplace of the Texas Lone Star Flag, adopted in 1839.
