Jack's four point plan to encourage economic growth:

  1. Enact a Federal budget that provides certainty and shows America is serious about getting its debt under control.
  2. Repeal overly-burdensome regulations and government's road block to job creations.
  3. Harness America's energy potential to create jobs and bring down the cost of gas.
  4. Simplify the tax code to make it fairer, flatter, and more conducive to growth.

Rep Kingston, I know its in the Senate right now but if you want to win the war over student loans, realize that the interest rates are only a minor piece of the problem, almost a smoke screen. The real issue with loans is the use of "Paid ahead status". Which allows lenders to delay crediting any extra payments and continuing to charge interest on same as if it hadn't been paid. This allows for them charge prepayment penalties (which are not allowed per every loan agreement I ever signed) because they call it something else. I found this out the hard way. 20 years out of med school and still owing 90K$. I had files a complaint with the GAO, who referred me to the Dept. of Ed's Ombudsman. I got a call several months later telling me that there "was nothing irregular" with my account. This is major waste, FRAUD and abuse and I would report it officially if I knew who to take it to.tb.
