Throughout my career, I have consistently supported agricultural producers on the issues they care about most, like fighting for a permanent repeal of the death tax, increasing American energy production to drive down the cost of fuel and feed, fighting against burdensome environmental regulations, expanding access to markets abroad for American agricultural products, and protecting and respecting private property and individual rights.

• I have cosponsored legislation to permanently repeal the Death Tax.
• I have cosponsored legislation to prevent the EPA from imposing a national energy tax through its administrative powers.
• I have cosponsored legislation to increase the exploration for and production of American energy to drive down the price of energy.
• I have cosigned letters calling for passage of pending free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea, which would increase market access for East Texas agricultural products abroad.
