This week, House Republican freshmen Members held a press conference to discuss the importance of passing a balanced budget amendment to the United States Constitution and how now is the time for a permanent solution to our nation's spending-driven debt crisis. We need a balanced budget amendment to ensure a prosperous future for our children and grandchildren. It's the right thing to do.

I love how they say that a balance budget amendment would save this country... It makes me laugh because anyone who sat in on an American History class would know this country NEEDS debt in order to survive ._.

jesus man how much do you think they get paid, the president gets paid 400000 and granted that is a lot but thats the presidents pay, all the reps and senators get paid less, taking a 50% pay cut would not save a whole bunch at all. instead of crying about their pay how about you cry about how the government is spending money they dont have.

This last week's "BBA" was a sham. Without spending limits, leftists will use it to force tax increases, not spending cuts. That's why Paul Ryan voted AGAINST it. The weak GOP leadership headed by Boehner has abandoned the promise of a REAL BBA, Cut, Cap, and Balance. They need to be replaced with REAL Conservative leadership.

I don't see anyone...Congressmen or Senators...taking a pay cut or reducing the size of their staffs. "We the People" are paying their salaries through our taxes. Instead of cutting entitlement programs or raising taxes why aren't they "unilaterally" taking pay cuts or/and cutting their staffs?

THIS IS NONSENSE.
Cut "defense" for the national debt. Grow the economy to fix budget deficits.

What we need is a congressman who isn't pocketing wall street money and ripping off his constituents. Also someone who could pass Economics 101. That's my dream.
