Disabilities

I believe that every American should have the opportunity to pursue their dreams to the limit of their abilities, determination, and desires.

As Congress discusses critical topics such as job creation, health care, and education, Americans with disabilities should be a part of the conversation.

Disability policies and programs should be about fulfilling the abilities and ambitions of each and every American to the fullest extent possible. They should not be about creating and perpetuating dependence on the federal government.

In Congress, I have been working to increase educational opportunities, remove employment disincentives, encourage community living, advance research, modernize Medicaid, and simplify the tax code to better suit the needs of individuals with disabilities.
