Congressman Culberson Introduces Legislation to Restore the Balance of Power

Posted by Loree Thompson in In The News

This morning, Congressman John Culberson and members of the Tenth Amendment Task Force announced proposed legislation aiming to preserve states’ rights. To commemorate the 224th Anniversary of the signing of the Constitution, Congressman Culberson has introduced two bills that will restore sovereignty as our Founders first intended.

As the federal government continues to spend money without state approval, H.R. 2917 The Restoration of State Sovereignty Act, will give states the opportunity to accept or reject federal grant money. Grant money rejected by state legislatures would be dedicated to paying off our outstanding national debt. H.R. 2916, The Tenth Amendment Enforcement Act, reaffirms each state’s sovereign police powers under the Tenth Amendment. This legislation will help preserve and protect the safety, security, and property of its citizens without interference from the federal government.
