Myrick Votes To Reduce Federal Spending By $6.2 Trillion

(Washington, DC)–US Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) voted today to save American taxpayers trillions of dollars by voting in favor of the FY 2012 budget proposal from Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan.

“We can’t keep pretending as if increased government spending and higher taxes on the American people is sound fiscal policy,” Rep. Myrick said.  “Just yesterday, we passed the largest spending cut in history, and today, we’ve taken it a step further to save $6.2 trillion in taxpayer dollars.  This is where the rubber meets the road.  We’re keeping our word to the American people to reduce federal spending, begin paying down our debt, and ensure retirement security for current and future generations”.

Rep. Myrick has also released a video feature detailing her support for the FY 2012 Budget.

The proposal passed in the House by a vote of 235-193.  It will now be sent to the Senate for further consideration.
