Myrick Statement on November Unemployment Report

(Washington, DC) – US Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) has released the following statement in response to the unemployment statistics released today by the Department of Labor, showing that unemployment dropped to 8.6 percent and 120,000 jobs were created in November:

“Any decrease in our nation’s unemployment is a good thing, especially during the holiday season. However, we must keep in mind that real unemployment – those people of workforce age who have simply stopped looking for a job – is at 15.6 percent. We still have work to do, which is why we must continue to advance policies that create economic certainty and free up capital for business so that they can expand and hire”.
