Myrick Honored By National Association Of Manufacturers

(Monroe, N.C.)–US Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) was presented with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence at a ceremony at the Goodrich Corporation today in Monroe, NC.

The award is given to legislators based on their support for NAM’s “pro-growth, pro-job agenda and achieving a rating of 70 percent or better on Key Manufacturing Votes”.  Rep. Myrick received an 83 percent rating for the 111th Congress.

“America cannot remain an all-consuming, non-producing nation,” said Rep. Myrick.  “We must keep our current manufacturing jobs strong, and work to bring manufacturing jobs back to America.  I’m appreciative to NAM for this award, and will continue to support legislation which returns our country to a position of manufacturing strength.”

“On behalf of Goodrich Corporation and our employees, I thank Representative Myrick for championing the causes that will help manufacturers thrive in North Carolina and across the United States,” said Paul Snyder, President-Customer Services, Goodrich Corporation. “We’re fortunate to have Sue Myrick in our corner, advocating policies that will enable us to grow, create jobs, expand internationally and stay ahead of our global competition.”

“Representative Myrick supports common-sense policies that will enable manufacturers to create and maintain good high-paying jobs in North Carolina and throughout America,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons.  “A vibrant manufacturing base is vital to getting our economy turned around and ensuring quality of life for all Americans. It is critical to have lawmakers like Representative Myrick whose actions consistently match their words when it comes to a pro-manufacturing agenda for economic growth and job creation.”
