112th Congress-2nd Session:

To date, the House of Representatives has passed 27 bipartisan jobs bills that are currently awaiting Senate action. Recent Developments:
  • The Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (JOBS Act) was signed into law by the President on April 5, 2012. This bill is a legislative package of bipartisan measures that would increase capital formation, spur the growth of startups and small businesses and enable more small-scale businesses to enter public markets. Joint Select Committee of Congress:
The recently passed debt ceiling agreement created a 12-member Joint Select Committee of Congress that is required to report legislation by November 23, 2011, which proposes a way to reduce the deficit by at least $1.5 trillion over the next 10 years.
