11.29.2012 Steve Stivers Opening Statement and Q&A; on the Future of Money

Steve Stivers gives an opening statement and participates in a "Q&A;" in a Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology hearing entitled, "The Future of Money: Dollars and Sense." Stivers specifically discusses changing coin composition to lower the cost of penny and nickel production. In 2011, Stivers introduced the Cents and Sensibility Act and the STEEL Nickel Act to lower the cost of producing pennies and nickels and to ensure they are minted with steel instead of minerals imported from outside the United States. more >>
