Cohen Hosts Telephone Town Hall on Jobs, Economy and Other Issues

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today hosted a Telephone Town Hall on jobs, the economy, and other important issues.

“Town halls give us the opportunity to discuss the issues and concerns that matter most to Memphis families,” said Congressman Cohen.  “Today we discussed how best to create jobs, how to improve the economy, where to get free voter identification, health care, and many other topics.  Whether it’s the economy and creating jobs or voter identification laws, 9th District constituents have opinions and ideas that help us move forward with legislation in Congress.”

The Telephone Town Hall meeting began at 1:30 p.m. CST and lasted a little more than one hour.  More than 4,800 District 9 constituents participated in the call and asked questions about a wide variety of issues.  Since being elected to the House of Representatives in 2006, Congressman Cohen has hosted dozens of town hall meetings in his Congressional district and via telephone from Washington, D.C.
