How Local Groups Can Participate in Inauguration Festivities

   October 18, 2012

Dear Colleague:

Planning for the 57th Presidential Inauguration has begun on Capitol Hill.  The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) has formed, the platform construction is well underway, and the staff has set up shop in the Russell Building.  The JCCIC, on which we represent the House, is responsible for coordinating the ceremonies at the U.S. Capitol, but not the parade or inaugural balls.

Many of you will have constituent organizations interested in participating in the Inaugural parade.  The Joint Task Force National Capital Region (JTF-NCR) is coordinating parade participation and has launched a website to accept applications from organizations (bands, marching and mounted units, floats) wishing to apply to participate in the Inaugural Parade.

The URL is www.2013InaugurationParade.mil.

Applications can be submitted on-line, and may include organization photos, a group biography, video clips, and copies of supporting correspondence.  Attached is a one-page information sheet from the JTF-NCR for offices to distribute to their constituents.

Contact Master Sergeant Jerry Amoury (gerard.j.amoury.mil@mail.mil) or Sergeant First Class Lane Shioji (lane.s.shioji.mil@mail.mil) at (202) 685-8210 with any questions.

   Sincerely,
