Representative Reid Ribble's Biography

Representative Reid Ribble is a third generation and lifelong Wisconsin resident. He was born in Neenah, WI and graduated in 1974 from Appleton East High School. After high school, he attended Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music with the intention of going into full time ministerial work. He then decided to follow in his father’s footsteps by joining the family roofing business in 1976 and eventually rose to become president in 1981.

Reid owned and operated one of the most successful roof construction and consulting companies in the United States. Volunteering his time for over two decades, Reid served in many capacities for his industry both as an advocate and as a community small business leader.

Reid remains very active in the local community. For more than twenty years he was the head Varsity Volleyball coach at Appleton East High School. He has served two terms as a Director of WEMI radio in Appleton, two terms as a Director of Life Promotions and one term as Chairman of the Board of Life Promotions. Currently, Reid is serving on the corporate board of directors for the YMCA of the Fox Valley. In 2007, Appleton East High School honored him as the outstanding alumnus of the year.

An avid reader, traveler and entrepreneur, Reid brings a unique set of life experiences to the U.S. House of Representatives on behalf of Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.

For the 112th Congress, Representative Ribble serves on the Budget Committee, the Agriculture Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. These three legislative assignments remain crucial to our nation’s and Wisconsin’s future. Congressman Ribble is working to make government more accountable and effective from his position on the Budget Committee. And through his service on Agriculture he is working to help Wisconsin’s crucial dairy, farming, and timber industries.

Wisconsin’s 8th congressional district is home to the Green Bay, Appleton and Outagamie airports, and extensive shipping and rail lines. Congressman Ribble’s work on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will allow him to help strengthen these vital Northeast Wisconsin transportation resources in addition to continuing the development and maintenance of our roadways.

Reid has been happily married to his wife DeaNa for 34 years. They have two children and two grandchildren.
