Great news today! One of the students I nominated for the 2012 U.S. Naval Academy, Taylor Lindenhayn, has been accepted to Annapolis.

From the Martinez News Gazette:

WASHINGTON, DC – Federal funds are heading to Contra Costa and Solano counties to help prevent and end homelessness, U.S. Rep. George Miller (D-Martinez) announced today. The funds are part of $1.47 billion awarded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to over 7,000 organizations across the country.

Members had advocated for a more open and transparent BDCP process

WASHINGTON, DC -- California Members of Congress who have led the effort to make the Bay Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP) a more transparent and accountable process reacted today to the statement by Governor Brown and U.S. Interior Secretary Salazar.
