Congressman Miller met with Senior Fellows of the City of Richmond Office of Neighborhood Safety's Peacekeeper Fellowship program just hours before President Obama delivered his third State of the Union Address in the Capitol.

The fellowship is designed to create a viable space for selected individuals ages 16-25 to contribute in a real way to building and sustaining community peace, and community health and well-being, with the express purpose of eliminating gun violence in Richmond.

Did you see the announcement today? Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory just announced that that Richmond, California will be home to the federal Lab's second campus.

This is great news for our community. The second campus will be located at the Richmond Field Station, located just off Highway 80 in Richmond. It was chosen in a highly competitive process between sites around the East Bay.

RICHMOND, CA -- U.S. Rep. George Miller (D-Martinez) praised today’s announcement that a top federal science laboratory has selected Richmond, CA for a highly coveted new second campus, calling it a major boost for local jobs and a vote of confidence for the role that Richmond and the East Bay play in innovation and discovery.

On Saturday I marched in tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with several residents from Richmond. I’m honored to have been able to celebrate Dr. King and participate in a very symbolic march about bringing together our communities. The march crossed the territorial lines of North and Central Richmond. Richmond Confidential covered the marches.
