District Matters

Firefighters from Contra Costa and Solano counties came to Washington this week to meet with their members of Congress and talk about federal support for local firefighters, like the Safer Act grants and FIRE grants, both of which help local firefighters afford additional equipment and personnel. On March 28th, George Miller met with from left, Dave Pierson, Jim Nolan, Vince Wells, and Vito Impastato.

Earning additional funding will allow City to continue successful REAL Program

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. George Miller (D-Martinez) today congratulated the City of Richmond on their award of a $2.48 million federal grant to continue the highly successful lead hazard remediation program, Richmond Effort to Abate Lead (REAL). The funding will allow the City to reduce lead hazards in vulnerable target neighborhoods, while creating jobs in lead-remediation work and investing in local infrastructure.
