Rush Limbaugh blasted for ‘slut’ comment
Rush Limbaugh is under fire for calling a Georgetown University law student who testified on Capitol Hill about contraception a “prostitute” and a “slut.”
“What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex? What does that make her?” Limbaugh said on his radio show on Wednesday. “It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We’re the pimps.”

Fluke, a third-year student at Georgetown University Law Center, was a witness last week at an unofficial hearing of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, convened by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), as a response to an earlier all-male panel hearing held by the Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The committee’s chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), had not allowed Fluke to testify at the original hearing, saying she was not qualified to do so.
Fluke explained at the hearing that as a student at a Jesuit campus that does not provide contraception, birth control costs can be as high as $3,000 during the time that she is in law school. She expressed opposition to a bill sponsored by Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) that would allow employers to avoid providing contraception for religious reasons.
“These exceptions don’t accomplish their well-intended goals, because when you let university administrators or other employers, rather than women and their doctors, dictate whose medical needs are legitimate and whose aren’t, a woman’s health takes a back seat to a bureaucracy focused on policing her body,” Fluke had said.

On his show Wednesday, Limbaugh suggested that the reason Fluke cannot afford birth control methods is because she is having too much sex.
“Can you imagine if you’re her parents how proud of Sandra Fluke you would be? Your daughter goes up to a congressional hearing conducted by the Botox-filled Nancy Pelosi and testifies she’s having so much sex she can’t afford her own birth control pills and she agrees that Obama should provide them, or the Pope,” he said, according to a transcript of his show.
“Well, I guess now we know why Bill Clinton went to Georgetown and why Hillary went to Wellesley,” he continued. “All the sex going on at Georgetown. Sandra Fluke. So much sex going on, they can’t afford birth control pills.”

Leave it to Limbaugh to conflate health care with promiscuous sex. Idiot Limbaugh does not even know how the pill works and assumes you need to take more BC pills when you engage in more sex. He thinks the pill is a spermicide. And he willfully rejects any evidence that the pill has medicinal value beyond contraception. A woman who needs BC pills to control the growth of painful and potentially life threatening ovarian cysts is just a slut in his eyes. Never mind those cysts reduce her chances of motherhood which probably weighs heavily on her. No, she's just a sex addict and a person of no virtue and deserving of his contempt. Like pretty much any person who does not make 30 million a year. He is an odious and hideous tool. How he sleeps at night is more than I can comprehend. This from the man who condemned drug users to death all while popping 30 or more Oxycontin pills per day and pimping out his maid to get them for him.

The PILL *does* lead to promiscious sex. Unless you have a medical condition there is no other reason to take the pill than promiscious sex. And since it is not 100% effective it *does* lead unwanted pregnancies.

The PILL, when prescribed by a physician for a medical condition, is covered by all insurance plans that I know if, including those of religious institutions.
This is really a non sequitur argument. It simply has nothing to do with the whole issue at all. The fact that so many Marxist Democrats are depending on this non sequitur in order to have *anything* to say stands as proof that they really have no relevant argument against Owebummers assault on the First Amendment.

If you are using the PILL in order to indulge in sex outside of marriage then your virture really *IS* in question. It is one of the main reasons for the epidemic of STDs this country is suffering under according to the CDC.

If she is saying that a student spends $3,000 on birth control over three years of law school, that comes out to $83 a month. How is that even possible? Even birth control pills do not cost that much a month.

What's more unbelievable than Rush's comment (we all knew he was a chauvinistic sexist racist), are the comments on this forum labeling Ms. Fluke a slut and agreeing with Rush. The last time anyone I know in "real life" (and not on a computer forum) called someone a "slut" we were in high school... Labeling others' lifestyles and judging people by their practices, especially when we don't really know anything about that, seemed so "high school" in college and beyond. I cannot believe the ADULTS on this forum are stooping to this level of discussion.
Unbelievable! But maybe to be expected, considering the staunch anti woman position now worn so proudly by many republicans. The conversations about women being "sluts" or "prostitutes" because they deserve HEALTH CARE (newsflash: Fluke was testifying how the pill is NOT JUST for contraception but is used to treat many other medical conditions) is just absolutely beyond the pale and needs to be cut off by all responsible Republicans NOW. People, this isn't Salem in the 17th century and we don't burn women at the stake anymore for having opinions or for having sex. If you think we should, please move to Afghanistan.
