SANCHEZ COMMENTS ON CSUF ECONOMIC FORECAST FOR 2013

Oct 24, 2012 Issues: Economy

Garden Grove, CA – Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-47) released the following statement in response to Cal State Fullerton’s 2013 economic forecast, released this morning, which shows Orange County’s economic recovery is moving in a positive direction. The forecast shows significant hiring in 2013 and 2014, especially in the construction industries.  It also shows a substantial increase in the median price of housing in Orange County.

“Cal State Fullerton's economic forecast is very encouraging, especially in the area of job growth,” said Sanchez.  “The forecast also notes that the median price of housing in OC is projected to rise 5-7% in the next year. Economists at CSUF foresee construction hiring to significantly increase over the next two years – in large part due to smart investments made here in Orange County to improve our infrastructure. Slowly but steadily, our economy is gaining ground.  This is a direct result of policies we have implemented to ensure certainty for the middle class, grow our economy and create jobs. “
