South Bend, Ind. - Today, Congressman Joe Donnelly released the following statement to commemorate Veterans' Day:
"Today, we honor veterans from Indiana and across the United States for their service to our country. We must never forget that we enjoy our freedom because of the men and women in uniform who have courageously served our nation.
"Since coming to Congress, and through my service on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, addressing our veterans’ needs and concerns has been one of my top priorities. From securing funding for a new VA clinic in South Bend to helping enact the landmark G.I. Bill for the 21st Century, I have worked tirelessly on efforts that I believe will benefit our current and future veterans. Providing these heroes with the health care, benefits, and overall respect they have earned is the least we can do to give back to them for their commitment to our country.
"I am proud to represent the over 52,000 veterans who reside in Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District. On Veterans Day, and every day, let us honor veterans’ service with actions that fulfill our commitment to them. We owe our veterans and their families our gratitude for the sacrifices they have made for us all."
