Congressman Boustany Teams with Bipartisan Coalition to Introduce the Keystone for A Secure Tomorrow Act (K-FAST)

(Washington, DC)  – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., (R-South Louisiana) released the following statement after joining with Congressmen Ted Poe (R-Texas) and Dan Boren (D-Oklahoma) and a bipartisan coalition of Congressional Members to introduce H.R. 3811, the Keystone For A Secure Tomorrow Act (K-FAST):

“This legislation provides immediate approval of the permit to complete the Keystone XL Pipeline. K-FAST takes politics out of the equation by invoking sound policy. President Obama’s rejection of the Keystone XL Pipeline was a rejection of American jobs. I refuse to sit idle and let 20,000 shovel-ready jobs disappear. K-FAST not only creates jobs but also enhances our national security by reducing our nation’s dependence on oil from the Middle East and South America.”

Boustany is Louisiana’s leading voice for American energy production. By fighting the Obama moratorium on coastal drilling and exploration coupled with supporting increased domestic energy production, Boustany remains South Louisiana’s staunchest advocate for energy independence on Capitol Hill. He continues to fight for a speedy resumption of permits to the Gulf Coast to boost energy production and lower the price of gas for Americans.
