Boustany's NFIB Rating Shows Commitment to Protecting Small Businesses in South Louisiana

(Washington, DC)  – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D. (R-South Louisiana), released the following statement after the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the voice of small business, recently rated Members of Congress based on their voting record. Congressman Boustany tied for the highest score in the Louisiana delegation:

“Protecting small businesses is a commitment I have wholeheartedly embraced. Before entering Congress, I was a small business owner that understood how increasing federal regulations made it difficult to operate my medical practice. As this report states, it ‘cuts through the rhetoric of campaigns and looks at the hard facts’ by looking at how I voted on small business issues. I am pleased to receive this high rating.

“Last week, I voted in favor of the Small Business Tax Cut Act of 2012, legislation providing a 20% tax deduction for small businesses with fewer than 500 employees. This legislation will save small businesses $45.9 billion in taxes. As my votes indicate, I am proud to stand by and protect small businesses in South Louisiana.”
