(Washington, DC) – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr. M.D. (R-South Louisiana) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 459, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, to permit and mandate a full audit of the United States Federal Reserve by the Government Accountability Office (GAO):

“The American people deserve more transparency from the Federal Reserve. H.R. 459 delivers it. This legislation requires a full audit to be completed by the GAO and submitted to Congress within 12 months. I applaud the efforts of Rep. Ron Paul for introducing this bill and encourage the Senate to swiftly pass this legislation.”
