Boustany Remembers Cedar Revolution in Lebanon

(Washington, DC)  – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D. (R-South Louisiana), released the following statement commemorating the 7th anniversary of Lebanon’s Cedar Revolution:

“Seven years ago, over 1 million Lebanese took to the streets of Beirut to seek freedom and justice in what became known as the Cedar Revolution. Due to these brave men and women demanding peace and stability, the Syrian Army withdrew from Lebanon after 30 years of occupation.

“Today, we remember the determination and sacrifices made by these brave people in their calls for democracy, freedom, truth, and justice in Lebanon.”
