Boustany Meets with Local Emergency Responders as Hurricane Isaac Comes Ashore

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement after Hurricane Isaac made its way ashore from the Gulf of Mexico into South Louisiana:

“This morning, I spent time visiting the Lafayette Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness to receive an update with the latest information on Hurricane Isaac from Director Bill Vincent and Mayor Joey Durel of Lafayette. The storm continues to pass through the area very slowly with much more rain in the forecast.

“I urge everyone to be safe and use good judgment by staying indoors until the storm passes. Please do not get on the road unless you absolutely must. Hurricane conditions are present throughout South Louisiana as winds remain strong and rain continues to downpour.

“Please continue to monitor the storm by tuning in to local television and radio stations for the latest updates on Hurricane Isaac.”
