Boustany: Democrats Refuse to Get Serious about Cutting Government Spending

(Washington, DC) - Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) released the following statement in reaction to the Balance Budget Amendment to the Constitution vote:

“This vote would have moved our country closer to preventing the reckless deficit spending the current Administration has engaged in for far too long. With 14 million Americans unemployed and the national debt surpassing $15 trillion, now is the time for Washington to act responsibly and pass common sense legislation like the Balance Budget Amendment. It is disappointing Democrats in Congress refuse to get serious about cutting government spending.”
