Boustany Calls for Peaceful Transition in Egypt as Mubarak Steps Down
February 11, 2011Washington, D.C.– U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr., (R-Southwest Louisiana), today issued the following statement in reaction to the change in leadership in Egypt:
“Today, Egypt’s president Hosni Mubarak relinquished power in Egypt after weeks of protest by the Egyptian people,” Boustany said. “I hope this historic moment results in a peaceful transition of power as the nation moves toward an open, democratic government.
