Boustany Announces $1.8+ Million Grant for UL Lafayette

 

(Washington, DC)  – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D. (R-South Louisiana), released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced a grant is being awarded to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the amount of $1,858,987.00:

“This grant will be used toward research and development at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Chimpanzee Biomedical Research Program. The University will benefit from the funding with the ability to utilize it toward the New Iberia Research Center which houses 359 chimpanzees. I am proud to see UL Lafayette’s scientific teams advancing biomedical research in South Louisiana.”
