Searching for a Job? -- Come to our Veterans' Hiring Fair on August 14

One of my biggest priorities as your Representative is to help ensure people in the 7th Congressional District have good, stable jobs to go to. If you or someone you know is looking for a job, or to change careers, my office is hosting a Veterans' Hiring Fair on August 14. This is our seventh career fair matching employers who are hiring now with job seekers. Click here for a full list of employers from our previous career fairs.
This Veterans' Hiring Fair is a chance to help our returning active duty military and veterans with their transition back into the civilian work force. The skills learned during military service can apply to myriad positions in both the private and public sectors, and employers at this fair are looking to hire those skills.

New Resource Centers on my Website
I strive to keep my constituents informed about ways my office and I can help cut through government red tape or provide information about helpful resources. Recently, I updated my website to provide even more helpful tips, the latest news and information about legislation affecting our district, and updates on coming summer events and programs.

Constituent Success Story: Gerald from Aurora
My office is here to help the hard working people of the 7th Congressional District cut through some of the red tape when dealing with a government agency. If you are having an issue with a federal agency, please call my office. My staff and I will always do our best to help. We were able to help Gerald receive retroactive payment from the Railroad Retirement Board due to sick leave.
"So often we catch ourselves complaining about our elected officials and what we perceive as what they do not do. I personally just wanted to take a moment and say even I have got caught up in that as well. Your office has renewed my faith in some of our officials, with the help they provided me (small to some, monumental task to myself) in dealing with the Railroad Retirement Board on a claim for sickness due to a heart attack. Thanks to you, the claim has been taken care of and the red tape cut with your help. I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for the help and a restored opinion that not all government offices are “ broken “ as we sometimes perceive it."
