As Chairwoman of the Commerce, Justice, Science (CJS) Appropriations Subcommittee, Senator Mikulski is committed to supporting discovery and innovation in America and is working to implement recommendations from the National Academy of Sciences' "Gathering Storm" report. Her science and innovation priorities include:

·  Investing in programs that promote scientific research
·  Increasing the number of students earning science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) degrees
·  Making Maryland a leader in science and innovation
