Rep. Culberson’s statement on today’s shooting near the Arizona-Mexico border

Rep. John Culberson (TX-07) released the following statement after today’s shooting near the Arizona-Mexico border:

“Today’s early morning shooting of two Border Patrol Agents near Bisbee, Arizona, which resulted in the tragic death of Agent Nicholas J. Ivie and the injury of another, is a reminder of the constant danger faced along the southern border.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the fallen and injured agents, and to all men and women in our law enforcement community who face dangerous conditions as they work each day to secure the border.

“While the investigation into this senseless act of violence is ongoing, I will not rest until our border is secure.  The federal government must take border security seriously and should start by enforcing our laws through a “zero tolerance” approach.”
