House Republicans Act to Remove Burdens to Job Creation

Washington, D.C.  – House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) issued the following statement after the House Committee on Ways and Means approved legislation to repeal the 1099 tax reporting provisions enacted last Congress under the Democrat majority.

“The 1099 provisions – particularly those included as part of ObamaCare – are massive burdens on job creators and will do absolutely nothing to improve access to affordable, quality health care,” said Chairman Price.  “Piling more paperwork on already struggling small businesses is a direct threat to our economic recovery and our long-term prosperity.  House Republicans are doing our part to create an environment conducive to economic growth so more Americans can get back to work.  This is a step toward protecting small businesses and families from an out-of-control Washington.  To fully restore the rights and protect access to health care for all Americans, ObamaCare should be fully repealed and replaced with patient-centered reforms.”
