House Republicans Committed to Tax Reform

Washington, D.C.– House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Small Business Tax Cut Act.

“House Republicans are continuing to fight for pro-growth policies that encourage economic expansion and job creation,” said Chairman Price.  “This is in sharp contrast to the policies of President Obama and Congressional Democrats who continue to threaten success and entrepreneurship through political gimmicks like the Buffett Rule while saddling job creators with higher taxes to chase higher Washington spending.  The president’s efforts put Washington’s priorities over the needs of families and small businesses.

“Republicans recognize that the engine of economic opportunity and job creation resides in the hard work and ingenuity of small businesses.  We ought to be doing all we can to decrease the burden on our nation's job creators and help them keep more money in the private economy.  In the end, we still need broader, more comprehensive tax reform that will create an environment in which more small businesses can grow and create jobs.”
