WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R. Miss.) today issued the following statement in observance of the terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001.

“Today we remember with sadness and determined resolve, the terrorist attacks on the United States 11 years ago.  I join in recalling the victims lost that day, and the brave Americans who have lost their lives since then in the fight to protect our nation from terrorist threats.  More than a decade after that terrible day, we remain a nation of proud and resilient people who will not bend to cowardly acts of terrorism.”

The U.S. Congress today observed the 9/11 attacks with a moment of silence and brief ceremony on the steps of the Capitol.
