COCHRAN ISSUES VETERANS DAY STATEMENT

Miss. Senator Says Nation Unified in Appreciation of Veterans’ Sacrifices

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-Miss.), a Navy veteran, today issued the following statement to commemorate Veterans Day 2012:

“Veterans Day provides us with a special opportunity to honor and thank the men and women who have served in our Armed Forces to protect our nation and its national security interests.

“While election years sometimes highlight divisions within our country, it is reassuring that our nation is united in its appreciation for the bravery and courage shown by our fellow Americans who have fought for our nation.  This broad level of support will be critical as we, as a nation, work to fulfill our commitment to veterans now leaving military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world.”
