Represenative Martin Heinrich believes Americans deserves access to affordable, high quality health care.  The skyrocketing cost of health care in this country is a disgrace and is putting tremendous burdens on families and businesses alike. Health insurance is so expensive that over 400,000 New Mexicans go without it each year. In fact, New Mexico has the second highest uninsurance rate in the nation. Furthermore, many people are underinsured and lack access to quality health care. Americans spend more per person on health care than people do in any other country in the world but do not necessarily receive higher quality care. 

It is clear that we need comprehensive changes to the way we provide health care in this country. We should use our ingenuity to develop a fair, common sense plan to make sure that every American has access to high quality affordable health care.
