California Artist Robert Steiner Wins 2012 Federal Duck Stamp Contest

Robert Steiner, an artist from San Francisco, Calif., is the winner of the 2012 Federal Duck Stamp Art Contest. The announcement was made today by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Deputy Director Rowan Gould at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. Steiner's acrylic painting of a common goldeneye will be made into the 2013-2014 Federal Duck Stamp, which will go on sale in late June 2013.

Third Place winner, Paul Bridgeford of Des Moines, Iowa, placed second with his acrylic painting of a pair of northern shovelers.

Third Place

Gerald Mobley of Claremore, Okla., took third place with his acrylic painting of a pair of northern shovelers. Mobley’s art appeared on the 1985-1986 Federal Duck Stamp.

Minnesota Artist Joseph Hautman Wins
2011 Federal Duck Stamp Contest

2011 Federal Duck Stamp Contest WinnerJoseph Hautman of Plymouth, Minnesota, won the 2011 Federal Duck Stamp Contest today with his acrylic painting of a single wood duck. Hautman has previously won the contest three times, in 1991, 2001 and 2007. His art will be made into the 2012-2013 Federal Duck Stamp, which will go on sale in late June 2012. Second place went to Adam Grimm of Burbank, South Dakota, for his oil painting of a single gadwall. Richard Clifton of Milford, Delaware, took third place with his acrylic painting of a pair of mallards.
