Myrick Votes To Stop Congressional Pay Increase

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Yesterday, US Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) voted against an automatic pay increase for Members of Congress. HR 5146 states that Members of Congress shall not receive a cost of living adjustment in pay during fiscal year 2011.

“Members of Congress don’t deserve a pay increase when millions of our constituents are unemployed and not receiving a paycheck at all,” Rep. Myrick said.

Rep. Myrick co-sponsored legislation to prevent Members of Congress from receiving a pay raise in 2009 and 2010.

HR 5146 will be sent to the Senate for further consideration.
