Myrick Statement on Veteran Health Care

(Washington, D.C.) – US Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) has released the following statement on President Obama’s proposal for medical care for veterans:

"This is a misguided and short sighted proposal. The veterans’ health system was created to care for injuries that our troops incur in the line of duty.  These men and women go into harm’s way to protect us; the least we can do is ensure they have access to the best medical care-- without the hassle of being caught in a reimbursement battle between insurance companies and the VA."

Rep. Myrick today also signed on as a cosponsor to H. Res. 249, which expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that the Department of Veterans Affairs should take full responsibility for financing the health care benefits earned by veterans with service-connected disabilities.
