(Washington, DC)–US Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) has released the following statement regarding the passage of tonight’s Continuing Resolution:

“I’m glad that an agreement has been reached to avoid a government shutdown.  By passing a bridge Continuing Resolution tonight, we will fund the government – and most importantly our military – into next week, and give appropriators in both Chambers time to finalize funding levels for the remainder of FY 2011.   But enough is enough.  We need to get this under our belts so that we can start the real work – a budget for FY 2012 that reduces spending, pays down the debt, and ensures the security and safety of those we’ve been elected to represent.  That’s where the rubber meets the road”.
