(Washington, DC)–US Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) has released the following statement following House activity regarding the payroll tax extension holiday:

“The House is doing its job to find tax solutions that will actually accomplish the intended goals: work toward reducing our deficit, establish certainty in our economy, and let Americans keep more of their paychecks each month. The Senate bill does none of this. Employers, doctors, and American families can’t plan for the future two months at a time. The President, Senate Democrats and House Republicans have all agreed that any extension needs to be at least a year – it’s time to make that happen.”
