(Washington, DC) – US Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) has issued the following statement in response to the ruling on the immigration law in Arizona:

“How is checking citizenship status when someone is arrested an additional burden?  If a person is unable to produce identification when arrested, then there is just cause for law enforcement officials to determine if a person has further broken the law by being in the country illegally.  Since when did it become illegal to enforce our laws?”
