Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa released this statement following Saturday's shooting in Tucson, Arizona.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, the victims and the families affected by this senseless and appalling attack. Congresswoman Giffords, her staff and supporters were attacked while reaching out to their constituents and it is my sincere hope that those responsible for this despicable act are punished to the fullest extent that the law allows.  There is no room in our country for this kind of unspeakable violence. I wish Congresswoman Giffords, and those still fighting for their lives, a speedy recovery."
