  1. As we are in the midst of celebrating during this holiday season, I would like to remind all constituents of TX-17 that “Sobers Drivers Make Great Gifts.” I encourage you, your family and friends to have a P.A.S.S. (Person Appointed to Stay Sober) while celebrating. For more information on this cause, please read TxDOT’s Holiday P.A.S.S. campaign.

Bill, I am personally fighting my own financial retirement crisis, would you please "give me" some of your $$$ and support my crisis at this time ? Sounds sort of like our President doesn't it, and Congress continues to allow funding these nations, calling it "supporting Democracy". Come on now, it is time to take care of "our own People" and the excuse that it is such a small portion of our budget just doesn't fly anymore. The U.S. government ordered and paid for the fighter jets for Egypt's military as part of foreign aid for Egypt back in 2010, when Hosni Mubarak ruled. The fighter jets were supposed to be delivered in 2013, and delivery will go ahead as scheduled even though Hosni Mubarak has been removed from power and replaced by Mohamed Morsi, who led the Muslim Brotherhood before becoming Egypt's president. 5. Confidence among consumers is falling due to the looming fiscal cliff. It’s time the President and Senate Democrats work with House Republicans on pro-growth tax reform, common-sense spending reductions and meaningful entitlement reform.
  6. “December 7, 1941 – a date which will live in infamy.” 71 years ago today, Pearl Harbor was attacked. Please take a moment to remember and honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice on that tragic day. We are forever thankful to the Greatest Generation for defending our freedom. We should always remember that freedom is not free.

As always, I ask that you would continue to keep our military men and women in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to defend our nation’s freedom.
  7. Today’s job report showed 350,000 Americans dropped out of the workforce. For each job that was created, two people gave up looking for work. While our economy is struggling to recover, there is no need to increase the burden on small businesses which create the majority of jobs in America.
